Friends of Sunbury West is the name of our school’s Parents and Friends group and is commonly referred to as “FOSW”.

FOSW has been supporting Sunbury West since 1971 and provides an opportunity for parents to work together with the school community to achieve a school environment that is both safe and conducive to better learning for all our children.

Fundraising during the year is the primary focus of FOSW. Our school uses the funds raised to purchase items/equipment that otherwise would not be included in the schools budget. Some of our purchases have included:

• Updated playground equipment
• Air conditioning throughout the school buildings
• Curtains in different areas of the school
• Equipment for the gym
• Early Literacy and Numeracy Program support
• The colourful pavemarking in the yard

We run many activities during the school year, such as:

• Mothers & Fathers Day Stalls
• Easter Raffle
• Trivia Night / Disco Bingo
• Colour Run
• Chocolate Drive
• Christmas Raffle

We hold informal meetings on the first Tuesday of each month at 3.00pm. The meetings provide an opportunity to plan and organize activities. We welcome new ideas and input.
